Getting started

Try it first

On first launch, tap “Explore with demo data” to tour the whole app with an example household - no account or sign-up needed. A banner keeps it clearly marked as demo, with a one-tap option to set up your real household whenever you're ready.

Set up your household

Choose “Set up your household” and enter your name, your co-parent's name, and your child's name(s). Both parents are equal participants - neither can edit or hide the shared record.

Frequently asked questions

How does pricing work?

The subscription covers your whole household - only one parent needs to pay, and both get full access. Standard is $4.99/month with a 30-day free trial; a Pro/Court tier ($9.99/month) adds features for court-ordered and lawyer-involved situations. Cancel anytime, no commitment.

What if the subscription lapses?

You're never locked out of your own history. If a subscription ends, both parents keep the ability to view and export the record; live sync simply pauses until it's renewed.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → For the Kids → Cancel.

Is my information private?

Yes. Your record is stored on your device, the app uses no tracking or advertising, and it never shares your location. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What happens if I lose or break my phone?

In this version your record is stored on your device, so we recommend two simple safeguards: keep your iPhone backed up (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup), and from time to time export a copy of your record (More → Tamper-evident record → Export) and save it somewhere safe like Files or email. If you restore a new phone from a backup, your record comes back with it. Automatic recovery and device-to-device sync - where signing in on a new phone simply brings your record back - is coming in a future update.

Can a mediator or attorney see our record?

Only if you choose to share it. You can produce a clean, scoped export to hand to a professional - and unlike most tools, that export can be independently verified as unaltered.

Is this legal advice?

No. For the Kids organizes facts and produces records; it does not provide legal advice or guarantee any outcome. For legal questions, consult a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, open More → Settings → Start over to permanently delete this device's household, record, and any exports left on it.
